5.2.20 Amanda’s big walleye

Took the boat out with amanda, was a nice 70 degree day but was pretty windy. Water temp was 52 degrees. We only got 1 walley in 8 ft of water on a green Lindy minnow and that was this 7 lb whopper for amanda. Otherwise we caught some small pike and white bass. Was pretty slow for everyone it seemed.

Shore fishing 5.21.18

Went out shore fishing at lewis and Clark yesterday with Sam and did really well. We fished the point at lewis and Clark with slip bobber in about 3 feet of water topped with jig head and minnow. Water is high and muddy but fish were biting. Managed several white bass, a crappie, a catfish, and a super nice walleye that sam let go. 26.5 inch, 7 lb, fish! Crappie was spawned out already but may have just happened. Bass were not.

Perch Turned Off

Well went out again to catch some more Yellow Perch because they are just so tasty but wasnt able to get very many, or really any big ones. I was using minnows and I thin minnow are over and I should have used worms. Managed five keepers. Also some smaller perch were doing some really odd things on the surface of the water, may be a sign of when the fishing turns off. I heard that others were having a tough time catching them too.

Other news, the lake is still muddy but is clearing up, I hear that the walleyes are starting to bite again on this end on spinners and WORMS so it would seem around 65 degree water temp the switch from minnows to worms happens.

That is all for now.
